Communicate. You Don’t Have to Do This Alone.

The ATTIKA Way

Communicate. You Don’t Have to Do This Alone.

Sometimes asking for help can be hard.

Even when your coach is standing right beside you, they cannot feel what you are feeling.

They might notice a change in your movement or energy, but they cannot always know when something hurts, when an exercise feels too difficult or when simply arriving at the studio has been a mental challenge.

That is why communication is a core principle of the ATTIKA Way.

Because we are here to help you. But to support you in the right way, we need you to tell us what you are experiencing.

We can see how you move. We can’t always see how you feel.

Your coach can observe your technique, your breathing and how your body responds to an exercise. But only you know how that movement actually feels.

We don’t know whether that discomfort feels manageable or worrying.

We don’t know whether you slept badly, had a stressful day or nearly cancelled because leaving the house felt difficult.

This information matters. It helps us understand what you need from your training that day.

Communication helps us make your training better

Telling your coach that something hurts does not mean you have failed at the exercise.

A good Personal Trainer isn’t a military sergeant pushing you to do what you can’t. Our job is to understand what you are experiencing and find something that does.

That might mean adjusting your technique, reducing the weight or changing the exercise. It might mean slowing the session down and focusing on mobility, control or breathing.

Sometimes a small change is all you need.

The same is true when something feels too easy, when you don’t understand an exercise or when you want to be challenged more. Communication allows your coach to make your training more effective and more personal to you.

You can also tell us when the challenge is mental

Not every difficult session begins with physical pain.

Sometimes the hardest part is walking through the door.

You may feel anxious, self-conscious, emotionally exhausted or simply not like yourself. You might worry that you need to pretend you’re fine or train with the same energy you normally have.

And even though your Coach is great for accountability, they don’t judge you or push you when you can’t.

We’re not saying share more than you are comfortable with. Sometimes a simple “I’m having a difficult day.” Is enough.

Knowing that your coach understands can make arriving feel lighter. You no longer have to carry what you are feeling while also trying to meet an expectation that probably only exists in your own mind.

We can meet you where you are and help you decide what would support you best that day.

Asking for help is also a form of strength

Many of us have learned to push through, stay quiet and handle things ourselves. Asking for help can feel uncomfortable, especially if you are used to being independent.

But communication is not a sign that you are incapable.

It is part of learning to recognise what you need and allowing yourself to be supported. Each time you speak up, ask a question or explain how something feels, you strengthen your ability to communicate.

Not only in the gym, but beyond it too.

You are still taking responsibility for your journey. But taking responsibility does not mean doing everything alone.

We are here to help you

You do not need to know how to fix the problem before you mention it. You don’t need the correct terminology or a complete explanation.

You only need to tell us what you are noticing.

Your Coach can ask questions, help you understand what might be happening and find a way forward with you. That is part of our role as professionals and part of making your training as safe, effective and supportive as possible.

Communicate.

Tell us what feels good, what feels difficult and what doesn’t feel right.

We are here to help you.

Because every journey is unique.

And no one should walk it alone.

¨Communicate. You don’t have to do this alone.¨ is part of the ATTIKA Way.

The ATTIKA Way is a list of reminders of how we approach health in a healthy way.

With more kindness, less pressure, and a focus on building habits that actually last.

The ATTIKA Way Reminders List

InBody measurements are an accurate body composition reading tool to help us see your quantifiable progress of your personal goals you and your trainer have defined together.

We will be able to track:
  • Analysis of body composition – muscle, body fat, water retention
  • Comparison analysis for upper/lower body and left/right side balance
  • Setting specific health goals
  • Tracking and comparing your progress with previous measurements

At Attika our priority is your health. We have met plenty of people with six packs that are totally miserable and unhealthy. Having a six pack can be a side effect of healthy habits and of course we can help you to get there, if you wish to do so. However, our priority is creating healthy mindset and habits towards becoming a better human, feeling good in your own skin, and having energy to keep going. The looks are a bonus 🙂

Cool!
