For those that don’t know me, I’m Teo, founder of ATTIKA.
I am obsessed with finding balance.
A way of living that feels healthy, but also full of joy.
And what I’ve realised over the years is this:
Health doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from doing the right things, consistently.
Small things.
Simple things.
The ones we often overlook.
Two years ago, I didn’t even know I was dysregulated.
I just thought… this is who I am.
Go, go, go.
Always doing something.
Working hard, pushing forward.
And when I wasn’t doing… I was either numbing or sleeping.
Pausing was not part of my life.
The first time I went to a breathwork session, something hit me.
I couldn’t hold my breath for 15 seconds.
Not 2 minutes.
Not even 30 seconds.
15.
And I remember thinking…
Something is not right.
Around that time, I started noticing more things:
I felt dizzy often.
I had no energy to train.
I kept getting sick.
Three chest infections in a few months.
I was six months into opening ATTIKA, my dream,
and I felt completely out of control.
At one point, I even regretted it.
That was my sign.
Something had to change.
But here’s the thing.
Dysregulation doesn’t always look that extreme.
Sometimes it looks like:
Struggling to fall asleep at night.
Overthinking everything.
Feeling like you have to fake being okay.
Snapping quickly when something small happens.
Never allowing yourself to truly rest.
Running… without even realising you’re running.
And this is where I want to challenge something:
You can train.
You can eat well.
And still not feel good.
Because health is not built only in what you do.
It’s built in how you recover.
Health is in the balance.
And if we only push, without learning how to slow down,
sooner or later… the body catches up.
And the price is high.
What changed everything for me was not a complete life overhaul.
It was small shifts.
Things I could actually do, daily.
Not perfectly.
Just consistently.
Not slowing down life.
Slowing down myself.
Catching the moments when I rush.
And consciously changing the pace.
Walking slower.
Speaking slower.
Taking one breath before reacting.
That alone started to change everything.
We love to overcomplicate things.
You don’t need a full course to start.
Breathe through your nose.
Deep inhale.
Slow exhale.
Whenever you remember.
That’s it.
Simple works.
This one changed everything for me.
I tried the “3 things I’m grateful for” in my head…
and it never really landed.
I was still in my thoughts.
What works is this:
Bring a memory into your body.
Feel it.
Because the brain doesn’t know the difference between past and present.
It responds to what you feel *now*.
So instead of thinking gratitude,
you experience it.
And your body follows.
Not running away.
We are very good at distracting ourselves.
But the shift happens when you pause and ask:
What am I actually feeling right now?
Even just for a few seconds.
One breath.
One check-in.
That’s where awareness begins.
Not a full workout.
Just movement
A short walk.
5 minutes of stretching.
Getting out of the house.
When I feel stuck mentally,
I move physically.
And something always shifts.
None of this is complicated.
But it requires something else.
Consistency.
And belief.
Belief that you are not broken.
Belief that your body is not against you.
Belief that even if it doesn’t feel like it right now…
you can get your power back.
At ATTIKA, we talk a lot about training, nutrition, strength.
But none of it works long term without this foundation.
Recovery.
Regulation.
Balance.
So if you feel like you’re doing everything “right”…
but still not feeling good,
Maybe it’s not about doing more.
Maybe it’s about slowing down,
and starting here.
One step at a time.
I’ll be sharing more about this.
Breaking these down into simple, practical steps you can actually apply in your daily life.
Not perfectly.
Not all at once.
Just one step at a time.
